The Alchemist
by Paulo Coelho

The story is about Santiago, an Andalusian shepherd boy. Santiago is spurred to seek his "Personal Legend" by a wise man who calls himself Melchizedek, the King of Salem. Santiago leaves his flock of sheep and seeks his treasure in the Pyramids of Egypt.

Paulo Coelho's story is an inspirational parable whose moral is two-fold - follow your dreams, and the greatest treasure is with you.

A good book - I only have two complaints with it and they are that some of the events are predictable, and there is lack of character development in the story. On the whole, the story is enjoyable, and at 163 pages, a great way to spend a couple of hours.
